History

Specialized Diesel Parts (SDP) is a family owned business based out of Hot Springs, Arkansas. It was founded by President/Owner Chuck Johnson in 1999. Mr. Johnson is a certified Fairbanks Morse Certified Technician and has over 40yrs of field experience building, troubleshooting, and repairing EMD, GE, and ALCO diesel engines with locomotive, marine, and gen-set applications.

From 1978 thru 1998, Mr. Johnson rendered his expertise to Hatch & Kirk and later to Illinois Auto Electric before going into business for himself. Today SDP boasts a newly constructed office/warehouse of 10,000sq feet located a 105 Technology Place, Hot Springs, AR. Additionally, SDP is privileged to represent several manufacturers, each leaders in their own realm, in several international territories.

SDP’s products are manufactured in the US and various parts of the world by OEM and OEM approved manufactures. All products are made to US industry standards by ISO certified manufacturers and supported by respective warranties.

With nearly 25 years of operations, SDP is trusted supplier to various railroads, distributors, and locomotive OEMs.
